Some new Infos ...
Hallo ihr Lieben,
hier kommt mal wieder ein Bericht.. sorry dass ich euch so lange warten lassen hab aber in den letzten Tagen gab es entweder nicht so viel zu berichten oder ich war einfach zu beschäftigt.

1.The Food:
The food is different but has also many same things. The hardest thing to change is that we only have for dinner a warm meal. For lunch we only have a sandwich or some other little things. For dinner we have have a lot same things. Sometimes we eat some things, which are really funny for me: one time we had spaghetti with tomato sauce on a toast and this was with cheese on top for a while in the oven. We have about every evening meat. Since I am here I recognized how often we have pasta in Germany. Normal noodles we only had one time! This is one thing I miss a bit. One other thing I miss is Chocolate. My family never has Chocolate at home. You can buy it but it isn´t cheap. Ich hab schon eine gekauft und in meinem Zimmer für ganz schlechte Zeiten versteckt. ;) I also found out that they don´t have quark here. Nuts are really expensive here, so never have some like in Germany. Some times I had a little package of raisins with me. @Mum: they really often use brown sugar, more than white and one time in a café they only had brown sugar on the tables.
2.Last Sunday I was the first time at the nice farm of Annalees´ dad. This farm has about 360 cows. Now is the time for the babies. The calves are soooo cute and there are so many!! There was also one, which was just born this day. They were shared in little stabled. I went into the stables and hugged them. They sucked on my fingers and I pet them!! I love them. They also showed me a second place with only boy calves. The most were brought away... . They easily talk about it and it is normal-I am shocked!! After that we drive a bit around with the car and look around. Her dad has a really big green area with lots of fields for the cows and also a second farm. On the first one a family lives with two daughters. Finally I really enjoyed the nature and the fresh air, which Is full of farming smells.

3.I am also already a member at a fitness gym (Fitnessstudio), where I have some workouts after school or later with Karina together. There I like to train to stay fit and don´t to save fat :D
4.At school the people are really nice. Everybody is so nice and friendly. I have never seen that somebody get treated badly or is not allowed to be in a special group of persons. Everybody is a part and today at lunch break we had a big fun soccer-game,where students of different classes and years play together. AND I already found my twin :D
>>> PICTURRE<<<<
One girl is me the other Samantha. One international boy already walked to Sam and thought she would be me and one time a friend of Sam comes to me, because she thought I might be Sam :) She also loves Chocolate and Nuts. We find more and more similar things :)
5.On this weekend we will go to a sleepover to a friends house because of her birthday! I think it will be a great event.
Best wishes from the other side of the earth
Your Ann Carolin

My daugther is a cow girl :-)
Hi my dear,
it is a pleasure to see how well you adjusted to the life down-under. I am sure the friendly attitude of the Kiwi people is really great und helps to find friends. I am really curious how the lessons of you different subjects are running? I guess you have rather same classes, don't you?
Can you join the photography lessons with your little camera or can you borrow a reflex camera?
How often do you play/ train hockey? Do you follow the Olympic games? I realized the the NZ ladies hockey team is doing really good!
Do you do work-out on the power machines to do you joind gym classes with aerobics?
Now back to work.
Best regards
Dad

Answers to Dad
Hey Dad here are some answers to your questions:
Thanks..Yes it is really cool how friendly every body is! They all would talk with everybody sometime. It is like a big family.
So my subjects: In Hospitality we cook twice a week, one time it is something sweet and than the other time some savoury warm dishes. The other two times we just have to do some book work like reading something and answer than questions about it. So this week our topic was the right cutting.
Marine Studies: Here we have to research about deep sea animals. Everybody took one organism and studies about its adaptations in the depth. We do it since 1 week and in the end of this week we have to finish it and show our results infront of the class. I took the elephant seal.
Maths: we just count each lesson. On Thursday we had a test. I was wondering because it were just two questions and not this much to do!
Textiles: Now we started cutting every pattern piece out of a simple fabric We will sew the whole dress out of this fabric before we start with the real one, so it will be easier and faster with it than. We also changed some of our pattern, e.g. the skirt shorter, a different neckline and the straps for the back smaller. It is really exiting how it looks like after we cut it out.
Drama: We talked the last lessons about Commedia dell´arte. This is the beginning of Comedy. We will start with the class play soon. I am looking forward to it.
Photography: The last week we spoke the most time about aperture, shutter speed and ISO.
Now we started looking on some books of good photographs to get some ideas for our tasks. The topic is documentary photography. Our task is to photograph a place, person or event. I think I will photograph the bird walk, which is a very nice path close to my house. I can´t join the class with my little one. I am going to borrow one camera off the school for this project.

I only train Hockey once a week. Every Monday after school I go to the practice. I really enjoy it. I train with the first team of the school, which plays in the same level like me.

I really watched quite a lot of Olympia ( more than I would in Germany). We had woman Hockeygame Germany against New Zealand and it scored 0:0. It was a good game but the german player are really better and had more changes to score.

At the gym there is a big circle of trainer. Between each is a soft board, where I do some exercises like jumping, running, boxing. Everytime I do two rounds through the trainer and after it stretching on a other station.

Bye bye I have to sleep now! Hope to hear of you soon! Ann Carolin

School reporting
Hi darling,
thanks a lot for your comprehensive answers. I now have a much better insight into your daily studies... It sounds to be really interesting with a lot of practical applications. School seems to be much nicer and lively like in Germany.
I really looking forward to learn how your results in textiles and photography develop..!
warm regards
Thomas
